Configuring the Global Widget

The Global Widget is automatically created when an account is set up and cannot be deleted. It provides a unified view of all reviews across the entire account, ensuring that feedback remains visible at all times.

Global Widget Sections

The Global Widget configuration consists of four main sections:
  1. Design – Adjust the widget’s appearance.
  2. Customize – Advanced options to modify content and behavior.
  3. Installation – Set up the widget on your website.
  4. Old Widget – Available for users with previous widget versions.

Design Page (Basic settings)

This screen serves as the primary configuration interface for the Global Widget. Here, you can:
  1. View an interactive live preview of the widget.
  2. Modify the displayed title and primary color.
  3. Access the advanced configuration tool to change the template and fine-tune additional settings.

Customize Page (Advanced settings)

The Customize section allows you to edit both the appearance and content of the widget while viewing a live preview on the right.
  1. Depending on the selected template, different configuration options will be available.
  2. You can modify the displayed reviews, adjust colors, fonts, and other styling elements.
  3. Once you finish configuring, click “Save changes”.
  4. The saved changes will be applied automatically, and if the widget is already implemented on your website, the updates will be visible after refreshing the page.

Installation

The installation process for the Global Widget follows the same principles as other widgets. You must specify the URLs where the widget should appear while ensuring that the Universal Code is installed on your website for it to function correctly.

Assigning URLs

  1. In the Installation section of the Global Widget, add all the URLs where you want the widget to appear.
  2. You can use the “Add entire site” option to display the Global Widget on all pages of your website.Example:
    1. If you add www.mywebsite.com/reviews/, the widget will only be shown on that page.
    2. If you use “Add entire site”, the widget will appear on all pages, such as www.mywebsite.com, www.mywebsite.com/about, and www.mywebsite.com/properties/.

Special Considerations for Embedded Widgets

  1. Embedded Widgets (List and Slider) require an additional positioning code to determine exactly where they should appear on a page.
  2. You must integrate this positioning code on every page where the widget will be embedded.
  3. If you plan to use the “Add entire site” option, we recommend using floating widget templates instead of embedded ones. Why?
    1. Floating widgets do not require additional positioning, making installation easier.
    2. If you use an embedded widget across the entire site, you will need to manually insert the positioning code on each page where it should appear, which can be time-consuming.
By following these guidelines, you can efficiently integrate the Global Widget into your website while optimizing its placement and visibility.
