The Global Widget is automatically created when an account is set up and cannot be deleted. It provides a unified view of all reviews across the entire account, ensuring that feedback remains visible at all times.
To configure, click Configure Design.
The Global Widget configuration consists of four main sections:
- Template – Options to modify content and behavior.
- Design – Adjust the widget’s appearance.
- Reviews - Sort and filter reviews to display.
- Installation – Set up the widget on your website.
Template
Here you can adjust the layout of the global widget and the positioning where you would it to be displayed.
Reviews
Filter reviews based on the booking channel source, sort by either newest or highest rated and specify the number of reviews to be displayed.
Design
Customize the color, title, theme and decide which elements to display.
Install
The installation process for the Global Widget follows the same principles as other widgets. You must specify the URLs where the widget should appear while ensuring that the Universal Code is installed on your website for it to function correctly.
Assigning URLs
In Step 3, add all the URLs where you want the widget to appear.
You can check the “Use as a global link” option to display the Global Widget on all pages of your website. Example:
- If you add www.mywebsite.com/reviews/, the widget will only be shown on that page.
- If you use “Use as a global link”, the widget will appear on all pages, such as www.mywebsite.com, www.mywebsite.com/about, and www.mywebsite.com/properties/.
Embedded Widgets (Wall and Slider) require an additional positioning code to determine exactly where they should appear on a page.
- You must integrate this positioning code on every page where the widget will be embedded.
- If you plan to use the “Use as a global link” option, we recommend using floating widget templates instead of embedded ones. Why?
- Floating widgets do not require additional positioning, making installation easier.
- If you use an embedded widget across the entire site, you will need to manually insert the positioning code on each page where it should appear, which can be time-consuming.
By following these guidelines, you can efficiently integrate the Global Widget into your website while optimizing its placement and visibility.
Standalone code
While the recommended approach of installing the global widget is through the universal code, sites that are not able to implement this have an option to use the standalone code. Simply copy the code and paste it in you the page in your site where you want to display the widget.
